Reading progress update: I've read 186 out of 583 pages.
So far we have the suspicion that there's a serial killer but only one body (several women have gone missing over the years but there's no proof they're dead). We'll see how twisty things get. One of the missing women apparently had an alien abduction experience when she was 18 that called in the local deliverance minister (exorcist) to consult.
I probably shouldn't be hoping for the bodies to start piling up, should I? It's just that I'm trying to read this for the "Serial/Spree Killer" square...
