This graphic novel combines chicken scratch artwork and uneven lettering with lacklustre storytelling. It was confusing and boring at the same time. I cannot recommend it at all. The only reason I wasn’t completely lost at the start was because I’d seen the movie years ago. The artwork made it almost impossible to tell who was who while following the story and there were these really boring digressions concerning all the Masonic stuff. And there was zero creative use of layout.
I read this for my “Classic Horror” square. I finished it partly for the square and partly out of a kind of curiosity to see whether it could continue being that bad. Fortunately I got this from the library.
