The Secret Life of a Book Blogger (Tannat)

— feeling doubt

Apparently this started with Grey Warden's post:

http://greywarden.booklikes.com/post/1447925/the-secret-life-of-a-book-blogger-challenge.

I was tagged in Obsidian Blue's post.

How long have you been a blogger?

I don't really consider myself a blogger. I joined booklikes in January 2016 after having been discouraged by the "blog" aspect when I had previously checked out the site. I just wanted a place to put my reviews and help track my reading. I'm glad I finally gave it a try, though.

At what point do you think you'll stop?

If it stops being fun or I just stop reading?

What's the best thing?

Finding unexpected interesting books.

What's the worst thing?  What do you do to make it ok?

Following the people here can distract from my own reading and other stuff I should be doing. Also writing in complete sentences. And not repeating myself. To try to solve the latter, I preview all the time. There's no help for the first.

How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

See #1, not much of a blogger. I don't use many pictures in my reviews, so I couldn't really say.

Who is your book crush?

I don't really do book crushes, so I had a hard time coming up with something here. I think I'll go with Joscelin Verreuil from the Phèdre trilogy because he's just adorable. I'll probably think of someone better after I post this.

[Aside: my record of Kushiel's Dart appears to have disappeared and I'm pretty sure I imported it along with my other books.]

What author would you like to have on your blog?

I'm not sure I'd want an author on my blog.

What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Clothes. But never a hat.

How long does it take you to prepare?

Have you seen my posts? Anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, let's say. I'll either bash something out right after finishing a book, or I'll jot down some notes as I go along. Of course, this frequently means that I've left something unsaid and want to go back and rewrite it. Maybe some day I'll get around to all those rewrites (eyes Children of Time).

How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

At least at booklikes, they're mostly cool. I haven't had to deal with much drama personally, and I hope it stays that way.

What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

Beats me. I'm not sure I have one. I'm guessing posting semi-regularly is key.

If you think I'm thinking of you, you're it!

(I don't feel like wading through and figuring out who hasn't been tagged yet, so I'm just going to leave it at that).

ETA:

I was also tagged in Moonlight Reader's post but I didn't see it till afterwards. And I don't even like answering questionnaires!
