Venetia - Georgette Heyer

Hunt the Squirrel?

I'm not sure I want to know.  Currently I'm imagining releasing a squirrel indoors (that may be the PG version).  That wouldn't go well.  It would definitely lead to squealing though.

So yes, I did decide to join you all because my curiosity got the better of me.  I'm not a huge fan of romances, although I sometimes find them interesting if they're written well.  So far it does hold some promise, with the snarky, studious younger brother Aubrey and the Byron-wannabe Oswald.  Venetia herself isn't terribly interesting so far.  I haven't gotten to the objectionable encounter yet, although I can see how it's probably going to come up.

ETA, p 43: concussion?  Pretty sure that word wasn't commonly used to describe a serious knock on the head back then.  Or was it?  Anyway, its use seems jarring.
